Little One Updates

Dearest Little Wee,

We are over halfway there- 24 weeks! Can you believe it? Apparently I can't. Your room is proof of that. I have your gifts, new clothes, small towels and booties tucked into drawers, but by the looks of your future room, you'd think you were coming out as an adult (thankfully that's not the case!). Your room still has "guest room" written all over it, but I have some ideas in my head for it.

Your daddy felt you move for the first time this past week- on the 8th. My thoughts were "finally!!". You and I have been feeling each other move for a while, but every time I tried to get you to show off for your dad you got shy. Silly, baby.

When I go out in public and people ask me, "what are you having?" They are quick to respond to my, "we are waiting to see." An unscientific poll would suggest that you are a boy by the number of responses. "You are carrying it high- definitely a boy", "I looked just like that with my boy", one woman even commented on my butt and thighs, adding that "I carried my weight all in my butt, thighs and belly like you and it was a boy." I stopped from saying that my butt has always been this way and that I must have been carrying a boy for about 15 years.

You are supposedly fattening up now and will be adding some more pounds to our weigh-ins. That's okay. You do your thing and I will try to not get too discouraged as we pass daddy's weight on the scale. In addition I have learned that your hair is completely white at this stage. If I were a betting woman, I would guess that it won't get much darker than blonde. Your dad and I were both blonde munchkins.

I have also read that your sense of hearing has developed. Did you like that Genius mix I played earlier of urban/hip-hop? How about that dancing we did along with it? I didn't feel any kicking as a response, so either you were cool with it or you haven't learned the appropriate way to move to those beats. Mommy will teach you the dancing part- don't worry.

That's all for now. You keep doing your thing, little one, and I will keep doing my part too.

Love you bunches,
Mommy
